Turning Leaf Family Therapy
Turn over a new leaf...

Welcome to Turning Leaf Family Therapy
At Turning Leaf, my hope is to provide support, and tools for change at a time when you might need it the most.
Life is very challenging and it can be difficult to get through it without feeling a sense of confidence or control.
It is not always that way; most of the time we can endure quite a lot, but sometimes it just becomes too much.
Sessions are a place where you can feel heard, gain new perspectives, acquire tools for coping, and understand yourself better so you can continue your journey, stronger, and more prepared for what may come next in your life.
Collaborative Work
You are the expert on your own life, therefore, working with a therapist should be a collaborative effort where you feel safe to express yourself and feel supported.
When entering therapy however, remember:
You did not get here overnight,
so don't expect to change overnight.
Be patient with yourself.
Together we can work towards a happier, healthier you.

Hi, my name is Julie. I earned my bachelor’s degree from California State University Northridge, in Deaf Studies. I worked as an interpreter for 10 years before returning to school for my Master’s of Science in Counseling from California State University, Fullerton. I have been with my husband for over 25 years and we have two young children together.
My therapy practice is built on the value of empowering individuals to improve their lives.
If you are in a place in your life where you are not happy and do not know how to change, perhaps you feel depressed or anxious, or maybe you have difficulty controlling your emotions, getting angry or having crying spells...maybe you feel your relationships in your life are not fulfilling and you want to actually enjoy time with others, rather than continuing to feel blame and bitterness...
It might be a good time to reach out and talk to someone who can help.
Your goals are my goals and we will get through this together.
